| THE YEAR had all the Days in charge, | |
| And promised them that they | |
| Should each one see the World in turn, | |
| But ten Days ran away! | |
| Ten Days that should have gone abroad | 5 |
| Sometime in early May | |
| So, when May came, and all was fair, | |
| These Days were sent to bed, | |
| And ten good Winter Days were sent, | |
| To see the World instead! | 10 |
