Amazon’s mission and strategy statement is as follows: “Amazon is guided by four principles: customer obsession rather than competitor focus, passion for invention, commitment to operational excellence, and long-term thinking. Amazon strives to be Earth’s most customer-centric company, Earth’s best employer, and Earth’s safest place to work. Customer reviews, 1-Click shopping, personalized recommendations, Prime, Fulfillment by Amazon, AWS, Kindle Direct Publishing, Kindle, Career Choice, Fire tablets, Fire TV, Amazon Echo, Alexa, Just Walk Out technology, Amazon Studios, and The Climate Pledge are some of the things pioneered by Amazon." The statements can be found on Amazon’s website: https://www.aboutamazon.com/about-us 4) List who their target market (the main customers they try to attract) is. You may have to deduce this one. Amazon’s marketing target is listed in their mission statement. Their goal is to attract every consumer on Earth through the many products and services offered. With the multitude of products they sell, I would say they are doing a good job at allowing a variety of consumers to use or purchase what they have to offer. When it comes to marketing, Amazon seems to know how important diverse marketing tools are. They offer sales and discounts, which can be a great way to endorse their brand. They also have ads on TV, social media, and websites, among other sources of media. 5) Do you think the information above "fits" the company and how they operate? Please explain your answers. They encompass the mission and strategy statement in many ways. This can be deduced based on sales and market value. Amazon succeeds at being a customer-centric company. Customers are the heart of everything that drives Amazon’s success. Without maintaining a good relationship with customers, they would not have been able to achieve the sales and market value they currently hold. From personal experience with several Amazon products, I think the information above encompasses the company. I have had instances where I was unhappy with products and the customer service was excellent. As far as invention goes, I think Amazon was the first to introduce a smart speaker, Amazon Echo. This invention led competitors to release similar products such as Google Nest. They have changed how people all over the world do business and how consumers shop. As a consumer of their products, it has changed the way I shop, manage my home, and read. A large majority of my purchases are made through Amazon.com. I have two Amazon Echo’s that connect to multiple areas of my home (security, lights, and TV). I solely purchase all my books on Kindle because of the convenience of it.
